Areas of Expertise: Jessica Haber is a higher education executive with more than 20 years of experience leading institutional transformation, strategic planning, and organizational change. She currently serves as Vice President and Chief of Staff at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where she provides strategic leadership across human resources, labor relations, security, internal governance, and compliance, and serves as Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
Before joining Cooper Union, Jessica spent over a decade at Mercy University, where she led major initiatives in student success, accreditation, and institutional realignment. Her work spanned academic and administrative domains, focusing on sustainable growth, operational effectiveness, and mission alignment in a changing higher education landscape. She played a key role in evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities and helped lead Mercy’s successful transition with the College of New Rochelle, ensuring continuity for students and programs during a period of significant change.
Jessica began her career as a corporate finance attorney and elementary school teacher, experiences that continue to inform her collaborative, pragmatic, and people-centered approach to leadership. She brings to her consulting work a deep understanding of the structural, financial, and cultural dimensions of institutional change — and a commitment to helping colleges and universities navigate consolidation and transformation with clarity and purpose.
